School Clubs

At OBPS, we are passionate about learning – both inside and outside of the classroom. Our ‘OBPS Curriculum’ ensures that we provide children with plentiful opportunities to develop their skills, knowledge and interests far beyond the reaches of the National Curriculum. As such, each year we provide a variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities for the children at our school. In the past these have included, but are not limited to: arts and crafts; dance; social skills; football; dodgeball; circus skills; book club; litter-picking; community club; choir; multi-sports; sewing; fine art and theatre make-up. There is a strong take-up of clubs by the children at OBPS: In the academic year 2022-23 to date, 83% of all pupils have participated in at least one extra-curricular activity.

Additionally, our KS2 pupils can enhance their theatrical and performance skills by participating in our annual production. Recent shows have included Alice in Wonderland, and Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits. Performances are held in the summer for parents and the whole school.

In addition to extra-curricular clubs, there are numerous other ways that children at OBPS can develop their skills and interests. Children who wish to take a more proactive role in the life of our school can become School Council Representatives for their class, whilst our oldest pupils can become ‘Play Leaders’, supporting younger children with their social skills on the playground at lunchtimes.

If you would like more information about extra-curricular clubs or activities, please contact your child’s class teacher, or speak to a member of our friendly office team.
